Losing Weight - Not Taking the Decision

What's the greatest barrier to losing weight? Yes, you've got it in one! Not taking the decision to do something about it. When it comes to losing weight, we are past masters at putting off the decision. We can find any excuse to avoid confronting the one thing we know we must address. What's the main reason for our reluctance to lose weight? Is it that we can't be bothered to make the effort? Does life just get in the way? Will it upset our way of life? Will we be embarrassed in front of our friends? Or have we been on diets before, gone through all the pain only for the weight to come back again? Probably all these excuses have been used, but the one that really stands out is the previous diet experience.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with a diet, but what you have to realize is that a diet only delivers short-term weight loss. Diets are not designed to deliver permanent weight loss. Permanent weight loss comes from making change and learning new habits. If you want to lose weight permanently (and who doesn't!) then you have to take a different approach to losing weight. If you don't change what you do now and just carry on in the same old way, how do you ever expect to lose weight and keep it off?

The process of achieving permanent weight loss doesn't have to be something to dread or to put off. It should be something to embrace and go for with enthusiasm. Just think of your life free from diets. Just think of a slim 'new you' and the fun and freedom you could enjoy. They're great thoughts, aren't they? Learn new slim habits and you'll be able to change your life - forever. All you have to do is to stop putting off the decision.

Rapid Weight Loss Tricks - Being Able to Lose Weight Safely and Sensibly

Make Permanent Weight Loss a Reality

Weight Loss Diet Pills - Will They Help You to Lose Weight

Quick weight loss diet pills - they're so popular for people wanting to shed unwanted pounds.

And whenever they see a myriad of pills right before them, the question that often follows is: "Which one is for me?"

Well, here's my simple and straight forward answer: none of them will work for you!

Ouch! That must've hurt especially if you've shelled out $100's for them. BUT that's the truth, you have to accept it. And if you're curious why these won't work, you'll find out here why.

I'll be spilling down the truth about these slimming pills and offer some genuine tips as well.

Let's go!

You didn't get obese overnight, right? So what makes you think you will slim down overnight?!

Quick weight loss diet pills are created with a wrong concept - that of quick and easy weight loss. Losing weight is gradual. Yes you may shed some weight this week or next...BUT time and again, it's been proven that they're anything BUT permanent.

So what does that mean for a person who is looking for how to lose weight fast aspirant like you?

That means buying another bag of pills and losing more cash...and that one is PERMANENT!

You can go around and ask any health expert or professional, they'd surely agree on one thing: high calorie and high fat consumption will make you overweight faster than you can say: "Slimming pills."

So what can quick weight loss diet pills do about it?

N-O-T-H-I-N-G! These drugs won't help you change your food and eating habit. Not even a bit! That change of diet must come from within.

And if you're after permanent healthy and slimmer body, you should watch what goes into your mouth and NOT spend cash on something I can describe as "Snake Oil" or bogus quick fixes.

Instead of shelling hundreds of hard-earned cash for these pills, here's what a weight lose help and tip you can apply for free: READ the food labels.

Not just food BUT that should include beverages as well. Look out for high calories and fats. They're your worst enemies as someone wanting to lose weight. They're the very reason why that belly of yours is bulging and nearly ripping off your shirt.

On the other hand, going for high-fiber foods and drinks will greatly help you NOT only in losing weight but also in keeping your body in tip-top and healthy shape.

How to Lose Weight at Home!

When it comes to losing weight, the average American would like to lose a pound or two, and some are looking to shed a lot more. Besides the fact that having the extra weight can affect peoples confidence in appearance, there is the clear evidence that being overweight can lead to severe health problems if left untreated.

So when it comes to losing weight, where do you start? One of two things needs to happen (and preferably both for better results):-

? Introduce exercise into your daily routine

? Eat more healthily (balanced diet/supplement)

For exercise, most people think of joining a gym. However, joining a gym and maintaining a gym membership to meet your weight loss goals can be costly. We may, both male and female, feel intimidated by the personal trainers and other well toned gym regulars or the 'stop wasting my time body builders'. Instead, introducing exercise can be as simple as introducing a 30 minute pleasurable walk into your day, or using home gym equipment.

For even better results to your plan for losing weight at home, eating a balanced diet is highly advisable. Naturally, if you eat less calories in a day, coupled with exercise to burn more calories in a day, you will get better results. You may consult with a nutritionist or personal trainer, but this is not necessary unless you are someone who would need to feel accountable to someone else to reach you goal.

To assist with a balanced diet and your losing weight at home plan, you can also consider the use of a weight loss supplement. Be aware however, that using a weight loss supplement should not be relied upon on its own for a large scale, sustainable loss of pounds. But a supplement paired with healthy eating and a minimum of 30 minutes of physical activity per day will help you get to your slimming down goal faster.

You have learned the that losing weight at home consists of eating healthily, introducing at least 30 minutes of new physical activity into your day, and adding a weight loss supplement (to help kick start your weight loss). Losing weight at home really is possible without spending hundreds on professional advice. Set yourself a goal, and don't forget to reward yourself with that fabulous new item of clothing when you get there.

Healthy Weight Loss - 7 Kickstart Booster Steps

How to Handle and Overcome a Weight Loss Plateau

I have a close friend who's been struggling with weight her entire adult life and spent the best part of it on a weight loss and weight gain rollercoaster - she'd lose five pounds and quickly gain seven, she'd lose twelve pounds and then gain sixteen and so on and so forth. She must have tried every diet ever concocted but nothing seemed to help and she remained obese.

Upon reaching her mid-forties she was diagnosed with high cholesterol and blood pressure that went through the roof. The doctor delivered a prognosis that frightened her into immediate action. So she embarked on yet another diet plan which required her to exercise daily, it shrank her portion sizes by at least fifty percent, increased her water intake to twelve eight-ounce glasses per day, doubled her daily fruit and vegetable servings, completely eliminated saturated fats and processed sugars, decreased animal byproducts and tripled her dietary fiber. This diet plan also taught her how to embrace and live by a different philosophy about food, about eating and about exercise and body movement.

This plan which referred to itself as "a lifestyle modifier" rather than a diet plan worked, it really worked. She began shedding fat, losing weight, looking better than ever and feeling wonderful. Until ...

Until the weight stopped coming off. She couldn't imagine what had happened. She religiously followed every directive on the plan and she exercised as instructed. So why had she stopped losing weight? And why did her scale continue to show the same poundage day after day after day? My poor friend was frustrated, she was angry and on the verge of throwing in the proverbial towel.

"I can't do this any more!" she confided tearfully. "I quit!"

"I understand you feel frustrated," I responded. "but it may be you've just hit a plateau with your weight" I said and started to explain.

Often when you've been losing weight for a while you can appear to hit a bit of a plateau. This is when "all weight loss comes to an unexpected halt." At this time, usually the pounds showing on the scales are staying the same, yet often your body is changing and becoming leaner. Because your way of measuring results is from the scales you may not notice the difference. So, instead you need to focus on how much your body size is reducing and this is best done by measuring yourself.

"My waist dropped three inches, my thighs lost a sum total of five inches and each one of my upper arms is now reduced by two inches," she told me the following day. She was noticeably revived but still unsatisfied, "But I still wanted to lose more weight," she said.

"Okay, well let me share with you a couple of ways to move beyond this plateau". I encouraged.

Here are a couple of ways to get out of the weight loss plateau by making a few changes such as:

· relaxing, stepping back and give your body and mind a rest for a while;

· adding stretching and resistance exercises to your daily exercise routine which will strengthen your bone tissue, increase your lean mass, boost your metabolism and ramp up your fat burning;

"Why haven't you showed me all that years ago?" she questioned.

"I tried many times but you wouldn't listen," I said.

"I guess I wasn't ready," she recognized the truth in my statement. "But look at me now," she pivoted on one heel extending her arms outward. "I'm a size seven now. I'm slim!" she shouted with glee.

Simple Weight Loss - Fast and Easy

How to Get Slim Thighs and Lose Weight Quickly

Let's face it most women would love to have slim thighs and lose weight wouldn't they? It would be even more appreciated if it was possible to achieve those things quickly and simply wouldn't it?

Well it will only take this short read to realise that achieving slim thighs and a noticeable loss of weight is possible and that the thighs and body they yearn for can be obtained.

Here are two exercise techniques that will get the ball rolling.

1.Use a mini-trampoline.

Most people think a trampoline is only used for bouncing up and down, which in itself provides many benefits, but nothing could be further from the truth. In this case your feet will never need to leave the surface of the trampoline.

You can use the trampoline to slim your thighs by using it to sway back and forth, this works well because the muscles in the legs have to work extremely hard to maintain balance, here is what you do.

Stand in the middle of the trampoline and without moving your toes move your heels from left to right continuously, you will sway quite vigorously and whilst you are swaying your muscles in your legs will be fighting this motion to maintain balance. This provides a great workout for them.

By doing this for twenty minutes each day your legs will tone very quickly and your weight loss will gain pace.

If you are a busy mum or housewife, or have a busy full-time job that limits your time making it difficult to do 20 minutes in one go you can always break it up into more manageable slots of say 5 minutes, as long as you get your twenty minutes in a day it will be fine.

That is the first of these quick simple exercises and you will be amazed at how effective it can be. Here's another one.

2. Sidekick your way to slim thighs.

Kicking is a great way to slim and tone your legs just make sure you have plenty of room before you start to avoid any breakages, either to your possessions or, more importantly, to yourself!

Sidekicks are much better for toning the legs than front kicks this is because the muscles being used are not used as often as those used for kicking forward, which are the same muscles used for walking and running. Here's what you do.

As mention already, ensure you have enough room to exercise. Whilst standing kick either leg out to the side, scissor fashion, keeping your torso as straight as possible. Continue kicking for two minutes and then swap legs and repeat. If you struggle doing two minutes on each leg start off by doing one minute and move up to two as soon as you are able to, and that's it!

Forget spending hours at the health club, slim thighs and weight loss can be achieved with very little work as long as you are committed to doing simple exercises every day such as the two highlighted above.

For even better results you should combine exercises such as those above with a good fat burning diet and you will have slim, toned thighs in no time at all.

What are you waiting for? If you REALLY want slim thighs then start by getting this FREE report on how to lose weight on your thighs and learn more about how to slim thighs and lose weight.

Weight Loss - Keys to Looking Great

Top 10 Weight Loss Myths

In this article, we explore the top ten weight loss myths, and give you the real scoop on dieting, health and weight loss.

Myth #1: If you want to lose weight, you have to eat a low-fat diet.

Sorry Weight Watchers fans, this is completely false. Low-fat diets are high carb diets which can actually cause you to gain weight since carbs are much more fattening than fat. In fact, eating the right kind of fats (e.g. coconut oil) can help you lose weight.

Myth #2: If you want to lose weight, you should eat a low-carb diet like Atkins.

While it is true that decreasing your carbs is helpful for those who are eating too many, one of the biggest problems with Atkins is that it has a high failure rate long term. Some people find the diet too restrictive and boring and may experience negative side effects. The best diet is a whole foods, all natural diet with plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables-something that is a no-no on the carnivorous Atkins plan.

Myth #3: Diets high in saturated fat like Atkins, will cause you to have heart attacks weight gain and high cholesterol. You should keep saturated fat to a minimum and replace it with "heart-healthy" polyunsaturated oils like margarine, vegetable and corn oils.

Nope. This is just a myth that 's been perpetrated by the vegetable oil industry and bad science.

1. There is no proof that saturated fat causes high cholesterol or heart disease

2. There is no proof that "high" cholesterol causes heart disease-in fact in women, it seems to be cardio-protective.

3. High-fat and high-cholesterol foods do not increase blood cholesterol.

4. Polyunsaturated oils can increase your risk for cancer.

Myth #4: Vegetarianism is the key to good health and a slim figure.

It may be for some people, but we've seen some patients get sick and weak on a vegetarian diet and when we encouraged them to try to eat some animal protein as an experiment, they had miraculous recoveries. We've also seen many overweight vegetarians because of their high carb intake. We are not saying don't be a vegetarian, we are saying you have to experiment with what is right for your metabolic needs.

Myth #5: Pharmaceutical drugs are a great weight loss aid.

Anna Nicole Smith took many different prescription meds to lose weight. They killed her. There are a slew of pharmaceutical drugs from appetite suppressants (Phentermine, Phen-fen) to fat blockers (Alli, Orlistat), to anti-depressants (Wellbutrin, Zoloft) and all of these drugs have serious negative side-effects that will only serve to mess up your physiology and cause you to gain more weight when you go off them. I used to work in a clinic with a drug prescribing bariatric physician and I saw the yo-yo cycle time and time again.

Myth #6: The best way to exercise on a weight loss program is to do cardiovascular exercise for 45 minutes a day or walking 10,000 steps a day.

Don't get us wrong, cardiovascular exercise has lots of great benefits BUT if you want to get the most bang for your buck, and you don't have much time, then you're going to want to learn how to do 20 minute workouts of high intensity interval training. You'll burn fat at seven times the rate of walking or other forms of cardio and unlike cardio, you'll build muscle mass which is the key to increasing your metabolic rate.

Myth #7: Reducing your caloric intake with low calorie diets, meal replacement bars, shakes, liquid diets will help you lose weight fast and easy.

The World Health Organization has stated that any diet less than 2,200 calories for an adult is starvation. We've seen clients following popular weight loss programs like Jenny Craig or The Zone on diets of 1,200 calories a day and couldn't lose a pound. So we told them to increase their food intake to at least 2,200 calories a day and make sure their diet was 100% REAL FOOD, not the processed crap they had been eating and guess what? They LOST weight! Funny what the body is willing to do when it doesn't feel like it has to store every calorie you eat because it's STARVING!

Myth #8: Sugar is high in calories so you'll shed the pounds if you replace it with diet soda and artificial sweeteners instead.

Ha! This one kills me because I sacrificed two years of my life doing nothing but reading the research on artificial sweeteners for my book Sweet Deception, and the research shows both in animals and humans that artificial sweeteners can cause you to GAIN WEIGHT. Yes that's right. Splenda, Nutrasweet and all the other toxic chemicals you've been told are the golden keys to a svelte figure actually increase your hunger and cause your body to secrete more insulin which is a fat building hormone.

But don't take my word for it, read the book yourself. If you ever drink another diet food sweetened with artificial sweeteners after you read it, then send back the book and I'll give you a 100% refund. (Be forewarned, these books have been selling like hotcakes and we've never had a single return which makes me feel very happy that I'm able to show diet coke junkies the light.)

Myth #9: You have a high chance of permanent weight loss success on any of the popular diet programs: Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, LA Weight Loss, South Beach Diet, EDiets, Curves, Nutrisystem, etc.

You have a chance of losing weight but it's pretty low. You need to address all of the many factors that can prevent you from losing weight in a holistic manner that involves the mind, body and spirit.

Myth #10: Weight loss is all about calories in and calories out, eating less and exercising more.Oh how I wish it were that simple! I could have skipped ten grueling years of pre-med and medical school and just had people write down their caloric intake and then tell them how to cut calories with LA Lites (bars and shakes) and Nutrisystem astronaut food.

But it's been my experience that there are so many other factors that can cause weight gain such as: food allergies, hormonal deficiencies, food addictions, compulsive eating, anxiety, depression, co-dependency and other relationship issues, metabolic imbalances, processed food, low caloric intake, sluggish metabolism, lack of goals, life purpose or spiritual foundation, social conditioning, EFA deficiencies, neurotransmitter imbalances, wrong exercising, and the list goes on and on.

If you have some of these factors working against you, you may always struggle with your weight until you are able to address them properly.

How to Lose Weight and Stay Slim

How To Lose Weight Fast

If you have been trying to lose weight and are struggling, know that you aren't alone. Weight loss is never easy, regardless of whether you're a Hollywood superstar or a mother of three in Ohio. Here are some great tips to help you slim down and lose weight fast.

First, realize that weight loss isn't rocket science. It's simple math. If you want to lose weight, you need to burn off more calories in a day than you consume. Find a website that calculates your basal metabolic rate.

Your basal metabolic rate is the amount of calories you'd burn if you did absolutely nothing but stay in bed all day. It is adjusted for your height, age and activity level to give you a personalized number of calories you need per day.

Now that you know how many calories your body needs to survive, figure out how many calories you eat each day. Many websites allow you to keep a journal of the foods you eat. Some even count your calories, carbs, sodium and other nutritional facts for you. As a rule, write down everything you put in your mouth. Even if you only take a bite, keep track of it.

Then, compare how your basal metabolic rate compares to your caloric intake. It takes 3,500 extra burned calories to lose one pound. As a rule, aim to lose 1.5 to 2 pounds per week, which is a healthy pace for weight loss. Never dip below 1500 calories a day unless otherwise instructed by your physician.

The best way to rev up your weight loss is by adding a workout to your routine. If you are inactive, try walking around your neighborhood for 20 to 30 minutes two or three times a week. Then, try adding a day after a few weeks. Before you know it, you will have increased strength and stamina, and you'll be able to walk for hours before feeling fatigued.

If you already have a workout routine, be sure to include both strength training and cardio for optimum results. Weight loss happens fastest when you build muscle tissue because muscle burns calories at a higher rate than fat. So, all your extra muscle will work day and night to burn off your excess calories, thereby boosting your metabolism.

If you have hit a plateau in your weight loss, keep up your hard work. No plateau can last forever. Be sure to get at least 6 to 8 glasses of water a day, and watch your sodium intake. You might be retaining water from salty foods like soup, which are often low in calories but full of salt. Change up your exercise activities to keep your body from getting used to the same old routine.

If you are interested in weight loss and want to know how to lose weight fast, it's a simple as basic math. Burn more calories than you eat, and you'll be well on your way to a slim, trim new you.

Natural Weight Loss - The Safe Way To Lose Weight

Lose Weight and Feel Sexier

Lose weight and the majority of us will feel sexier. And to feel sexy is important as it makes us feel more vital as well as more attractive and beautiful. We as a race admire beauty, whether we are using this term to describe scenery, art or aspects of individual body shape, size or bone structure. We also like to be approved of and being admired or liked inevitably signals such approval to us.

Our need to be admired and desired is also no doubt hard wired in our genes as an evolutionary trait which assists in the process of natural selection. The more we are desired the more likely it is that we will produce offspring. And the simple process of glancing quickly across the covers of magazines in a stand shows us that the majority of people see thin as more beautiful and more desirable than fat.

To feel sexier is probably our ultimate goal, or motivating force, in wanting to lose weight or setting out on a diet. We know that we should lose weight for matters of our health and well being. But listen to what I just said; read again the particular words I used. I said that we know we SHOULD slim down and lose weight. There is little emotion attached to that term; We know that we should go on that diet and cut out those sweets, chocolates, and so on; but we don't WANT to diet, we don't want to cut down on the types of food which we eat.

What we do want is to feel sexy, to be desired, to be admired, to be approved of. This is something which everyone wants whether they recognize this at a conscious level or not. This truth may well be hidden in our subconscious mind and may even be feared or laughed at upon the surface. But it is an inescapable truth that we like, either secretly or overtly, to feel sexy. This is why anyone who wants to lose weight should focus upon the instinctive desire to feel sexy as a means of increasing one's motivation to lose weight more easily.

I read something the other day which stated that approximately two thirds of people will openly say that they need to lose weight to enable them to feel sexier than they currently do. This desire to feel sexier should be emphasized in these would-be-dieter's minds so as to motivate them to easy weight loss. Simply by focusing more on seeing yourself slimmer and sexier is basically all that you need to do to feel more motivated to shed those pounds.

Motivation is a state of desire. You increase your desire to lose weight by creating a close tie in your mind between the powerful emotion of feeling sexy and the act of losing weight and being slim. By using your imagination to visualize yourself slim and sexy, over and over again, embeds this connection in your mind.

A thought without emotion doesn't have any effect. Feel your own emotional response, if any, when you say to yourself "I know I need to lose weight". You probably felt very little other than sadness and frustration that you are not slim. You certainly will not have felt a very high degree of motivation to lose weight.

Now, just try a slightly different task. Imagine how sexy you would feel if you were able to lose weight and wear all of those clothes you always dreamed of. Visualize yourself slim and sexy, smiling and happy, noticing too the reactions your see in the people around you. Imagine being the sexiest person in the world. How did your emotions respond to that brief exposure to your own natural ability to visualize? This simple exercise allows your mind to shift gear and motivate you to get on that diet and lose weight more easily.

Nobody can escape the fact that your own mental approach to weight loss will dictate your success or failure. It doesn't matter what weight loss method you use, or what diet or weight loss plan you choose to follow, you will only lose weight successfully if you have your mind and emotions focused in the correct manner.

An easy way to help yourself to get your mind into gear and lose weight easily is to use hypnosis. Simply by listening to a weight loss hypnosis mp3 you will focus your mind upon success; not only that, hypnosis will also enable you to tap into the sometimes hidden powers of your subconscious mind and also access a greater ability to visualize the things which you yearn for in your life - to lose weight and feel sexier.

15 Clinically Proven Weight Loss Tips

Almost everyone are constantly probing for weight loss methods to reduce their pounds but their intentions of having immediate results could be merely a dream. An effective and everlasting way of losing weight can never be done instantaneously, depending on each individual. Somehow there are few tips tried and proven that may abet the progress.

Tip #1 - Envision Your Success

Visualizing can help you keep track of your goal. Once, a man visualized himself in the ideal body of a picture in a magazine every day before he went to bed. His daily visualizing indeed made wonders to him with astonishing results. It took him 3 months before he literally transformed into the body figure similar to that in the magazine. Michelangelo is undeniably true with his quote: "What I desire, I must first imagine. What I imagine, I create".

Tip #2 - Daily Journal

Penning down your food consumption every day could be the pathway to keep you reminded of your goal. A record of your daily activities, food intake and emotional sentiments may help to discover the cause to your overeating or weight gain. It may sound ridiculous but when you notice you should pen down what you eat, even the tastiest food may turn your appetite off. According to the National Weight Control Registry, most dieters practice journalling before succeeding their plan.

Advice: Make a habit of submitting your food journal at least once a day. You can also do it few times a day if you tend to forget what you eat. Then your journal will be the reference of your food intake for further analysis and feedback.

Tip #3 - Select Appropriate Food Portion

The size of your food portion could be one important key towards managing your food intake. USDA has information stating that the average sum of daily calorie consumption has soared 148 calories during the past 20 years. Statistically, this figure accounts to an additional 15 lbs. annually. Perhaps a coherent approach of using a standard size to judge the food portion will be a good idea.

Advice: Take the slow step of chewing your food longer to allow your brain to sense your stomach's fullness.

Tip #4 - Exercise

Daily exercise is the biggest contributor to restrain your appetite and burn calories. According to the National Academy of Sciences, the best recommendation is a 30-minute vigorous exercise along with an additional 30-minute of living activities daily. The Journal of American College of Nutrition revealed a study claiming that one can enjoy the benefits of 10-minute increments equivalent to 30 minutes of constant exercise.

Advice: 30 minutes of daily exercise for 5 days a week is the best workout.

Tip #5 - Select Healthy Meals

You can try out the variety of seasonings, the best cooking method or different vegetables to decide upon what is best for you before you start your diet plan. A good planning will help to avoid messy decisions and you will have an advanced supply of food to kick off towards your goal. Shopping once a week is rather significant as running out of good food will have you eating inappropriately. Containers such as jugs, bottles and a cooler will be handy to store your food within reach.

Advice: Do not allow hunger to wait. Tiny healthy snacks are better than an empty stomach. A good breakfast can help to keep your hunger under control. Besides, water is also great to help reduce your food portions.

Tip #6 - Breakfast Is Essential

Breakfast is the best day starter. As claimed by the National Weight Control Registry, breakfast is one of the fundamental keys towards permanent diet. The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition had studies revealing those who take nourishing breakfast are slimmer than those who skip breakfast.

This may be hilarious but early meals will help to maintain hormone and glucose levels and trigger your metabolism to burn more calories. Human body applies the circadian rhythm - foods eaten at different times of the day are processed differently. Fat and protein taken during breakfast will provide energy but the same foods taken during dinner will lead to weight gain.

Advice: Breakfast is a must - not taking breakfast will have you binging more lately in the day.

Tip #7 - Six Meals Daily

Frequent small portion of healthy meals will boost metabolism as food has some thermal effect. The recommended figure is six meals for men while five for women. This is never too much and it is time you put this into practice. Eating often will involve calorie burning during food absorption and breakdown.

The positive effect could be 10 times better when you dwell on frequent eating. In fact, you will be more energetic and less hungry. However the last meal should be at least an hour before you sleep. Unlike other diet plans, this way of eating will not cause deprivation. You may have difficulties dealing with consistent eating but the effect could turn out amusing.

Advice: Do not leave your stomach empty for too long. Hunger can make you prone to more food binging. Proper meals thrice a day is good to cope with your hunger.

Tip # 8 - Importance Of Protein

According to the Journal of Nutrition published by University of Illinois, having more protein in the food during weight loss can help to get rid of body fat and retain the muscle mass. The presence of L-leucine, an amino acid will provide spare muscles during weight loss thus only the fat are eliminated. Sustaining your muscles during your diet period can boost the calorie burning activity. Excess protein may cause calcium leaching from your bones, damage your kidneys so go moderately with the amount.

Advice: Try taking lean protein from beans, meat, fish and low-fat dairy products.

Tip #9 - Lose Weight

One great way to lose weight is having support from people around you. The Journal of the American Medical Association published by Brown University stated that successful dieters often have supporters around them. Perhaps you could have somebody of the same aspirations thus encouraging each other to work towards healthy eating and avoid inactivity.

Advice: Take a friendly losing weight competition to help boost your spirit towards your aim.

Tip #10 - Permanent Weight Lose

Take note, instead of losing weight, you should focus on losing fat to ensure a permanent weight loss. Losing weight will include water, muscles and fat. However, the reduction in lean muscle tissue can pull down the metabolic rate hence it is the muscles that you should maintain. With more muscles in your body, you can still lose weight even with more calorie consumption as the muscles will feed on the calories. You can lift weight or take in more protein to prevent your muscles to lose.

Advice: ForsLean, the famous diet pill content was patented for the ability to boost lean muscle tissue leading to continuous fat loss.

Tip #11 - Grains And Colorful Food

Whole grains and some colorful produce are rich in phytonutrients, complex carbohydrate yet low in calories and almost zero fat. Good sources of vitamin A, C, and K, fiber, potassium and folate are vegetables and fruits. Darker color tone will provide wealthier health benefits.

The phytonutrients in whole grains are also found to help prevent diabetes, heart disease and fight against cancer. Whole grains require longer digestion thus preventing hunger much longer. The recommended choice is foods made of 100% whole grains with diverse types of carbohydrates containing all the required minerals and vitamins.

Advice: Most products in the "Negative Calorie Foods" can aid your weight loss plan!

Tip #12 - Consume More Fiber

Fiber triggers fullness more quickly and dwell in the stomach longer than other foods hence decelerate the digestion process and sustain the full feeling. One whole grain bread serving can bring a double feeling effect compared to two white bread servings due to the richer fiber content.

Fiber also reduces fat absorption as it smoothen the digestive flow. Most white rice, sugary cereals or white bread already have the fiber removed. They will transform into glucose very soon and therefore, contribute to diabetes. With the abundance of glucose in blood, the body system will not burn fats yet begin storing them. The presence of fiber will keep sugar level in the blood.

Advice: Glucomannan is one of the cheapest fiber supplements to aid weight loss and maintain healthy weight as it can expand the stomach and absorb fats. It will remove the fats from the body and prevent fat digestion. It also takes up spaces in the stomach and sustains the fullness feel. Your body will then turn to fat storage for energy source. Dieters Cheaters Caps is the most popular Glucomannan supplement at a price of $0.52 a serving.

Tip #13 - Drink Plenty Of Water

Water is called the World's Cheapest Appetite Suppressant. Half the amount of your body weight is the quantity of water you should drink in a day so drink to be slim!

Tip #14 - Cheat Meals.

Sporadic treat food can help prevent deprivation. Depriving may lead to binging so a "Free Day" will help motivate you towards your goal. This is also a good way to avoid your body from switching to starvation mode - a possible occurrence after constant calorie control. However, keep your treats and cheats during the "Free Day" in modest amount. Two or three slices of pizza are alright but certainly not the whole pizza. It is definitely okay to blew your diet occasionally but be sure to get back on track. So basically cheat meals can be one of the pathways towards weight loss.

Tip #15 - Pamper Yourself

Everybody loves reward so you can certainly pamper yourself with something you like when you achieve any small goals. Rewarding yourself will enhance your confidence and higher self-esteem will avoid you from food binging. However, one important note - the reward should not be in the form of food. Shopping, spa, or movies are way better.

Our tips are based on science. These tips will hopefully help you successfully lose weight. By making changes in your lifestyle and eating habits you will be rewarded with life-long results.

Diet System For Losing Weight Ends In Weight Loss

Simple Steps You Can Take to Increase Your Weight Loss

Are you trying to lose weight? Do you feel like the weight is not coming off as quickly as you would like? Have you tried dieting but that just leaves you feeling hungry and not slimmer? If you are nodding your head in agreement, then you should know that there are some simple steps you can take to increase your weight loss. You do not need to starve yourself, but you do need to burn more calories. If you are burning more calories, you can actually eat a bit more and still lose weight. Read on to learn about the steps that you can take to burn more calories.

If you want to burn more calories, you simply need to increase your metabolism. Your metabolism is how fast - or slow - your body burns calories. Every one's metabolism is different. The higher yours is, the more calories you will burn and the more weight you will lose. One of the key factors in weight loss is exercising. Dieting alone will not get you the results you want if you do not combine it with exercise. Exercising increases your metabolism and therefor helps your body to burn more calories. Aerobic activities such as running, walking, biking and swimming all increase your heart rate which in turn increases your metabolism. Make sure that you get at least thirty minutes of aerobic activity every day to get the most out of your work outs.

Another way that you can burn more calories and increase your weight loss is to increase your muscle mass. Muscle burns more calories than fat. The more muscle you have on your body, the more calories you will burn. A lot of people have found that they can increase their metabolism by eating smaller, more frequent meals rather than three large ones. Also, eating spicy foods has been shown to increase metabolism.

As you can see, there are several simple steps that you can include into your day to bump up your metabolism and increase your weight loss results. Once you start incorporate these things into your regimen, you will begin to see the results that you desire.

How Long Does it Take to Lose Weight and Get a Bikini Belly?

Who among us doesn't crave a svelte, bikini ready body?

Truth be told if were easy we'd all have one, right?

But we both know it's not. Easy that is. Which is why the burning question that often pops into the heads of those eager to slim down is "How long does it take to lose weight?" And for most the answer is not fast enough.

Which is a problem. Since increasingly sedentary lifestyles and eating habits that can at best be described as poor make it easy for waistlines to expand as you pack on the fat.

But sooner or later you finally reach a point when you simply must shed those unwanted pounds.

At that moment a sense of urgency sets in. Not only do you want to shed some pounds - you want to do it like yesterday. Hence the "how long" question.

Yet stop to think for a moment. All that weight did not show up overnight, now did it? Nor was it added on in just a few days or weeks or months for that matter. So does it make sense then to count on fast weight loss? Probably not.

Still logical or not, we want what we want when we want it. And will try all sorts of ways to get it - healthy or not.

Which might be why is some turn to fasting to lose weight fast.

Fasting is not smart however. Since it ultimately slows down your overall metabolism. And when this happens the number of calories your body burns is slashed. Besides do you know what you are losing by fasting? It's surely not fat. No, you're losing water and muscle. But since muscle tissue is what uses the most calories less muscle mass means fewer calories burned.

So you can forget fasting.

Fad diets can also help you to lose weight fast. In fact you might just lose a lot of weight in a matter of days. This is why the likes of the cabbage soup or grapefruit diet are so popular. They are almost surefire ways to lose weight quick too. But they suffer the same drawbacks as fasting. Plus you not only lose weight fast, you are likely to gain it back and then some, only faster.

Hmmm. Don't know about you, but fad dieting of any sort sure seems to be the wrong choice as a fast weight loss program.

Okay but can't diet pills help you shed weight quickly? Well, I'd be lying if I said no. In fact some marketers of these little wonders would have you believe they are wonder drugs. Which is about right. Because sooner or later you will likely begin wondering what were you were thinking when you turned to them for fast weight loss.

So looks like pills are out as a long term solution too.

Now one approach that does work is counting calories. Yes, you're right. BORING. Not to mention mind numbing. Plus counting calories involves math and it's definitely not fast. But...once you get the hang of it you may find your weight loss plan actually begins to work. So much so you might say losing weight becomes (almost) easy.

That's because there is actual science behind this approach.

You see, once you know the number of calories your body needs - you cut out the excess. Easier said than done I know. But cutting just 500 calories a day works out to a 3500 calories a week deficit. Such a calorie deficit results in the loss of one pound every week.

Also keep in mind that most any weight loss tips or diet will ultimately fail if you fail to exercise.

Yes, I know most of us loathe anything that requires sweating. Especially in public. But there is really no way around it.

Besides, exercise doesn't have to mean overexertion in over stretched spandex. At least not if you're into walking.

Walking is definitely one of the best forms of exercise going. It may not exactly turn you into a fat burning machine. But it works 90% of the muscles in your body and what more can you ask of a workout?

So a brisk one hour walk early in the morning will help you lose weight.

Just don't jump into something of that duration if the most walking you've done it back and forth to the refrig during Desperate Housewives. Start out with a short walk with the goal of working up to an hour five times a week.

Such a program can really help with that calorie deficit we're looking for too.

Anyway, as you can see the answer to how long does it take to lose weight is a question that's not easily answered. It can be quick and short lived based on fad diets and pills. Or you can take it slow and steady and enjoy a more permanent weight loss. The choice is yours. Oh and do it right and that bikini belly could be yours too.

Secrets to Rapid Weight Loss - 6 Little Known Ways To Lose Weight Quickly

Rapid Weight Loss and How to Achieve It

4 Popular Ways To Lose Weight Fast

How would you like to drop ten pounds?

Anyone can do it. You do need discipline and motivation to lose weight.

But losing weight fast?

How much time have you got?

1 month? 7 days?

Before I begin, I would like to warn you that if you lose weight fast, you are likely to regain back the weight you lost.

Do it wisely with a permanent change in your lifestyle to keep that weight off. Go for inch loss first by toning your body. Actual weight loss comes later. Muscle is heavier than fat but muscle burns far more calories. I'll elaborate on this later.

Back to the fast ways to lose weight

Here are the most popular options.

1. Crash diets

Crash dieting can let you shed those pounds, at the expense of your health. Once you eat normally, you will regain what you lost and more. When you fast, or when you go on a crash diet, you might lose weight rapidly at first, then your body adjusts, trying to conserve calories just to survive.

Imagine the days of the cavemen. Sometimes, the hunter is successful and returns with food for the familiy. Other times, he returns empty-handed. Our bodies are adaptable. That is how our ancestors survived. When food was plentiful, they ate to their fill. Their bodies stored the food in the form of fat. When food was scarce, they had little, at times nothing to eat, the body could depend on the stores of fat for the necessary energy for survival. Hence when food is available, the body stores what it can for the bad time.

Back to modern day. The first crash diet might seem wildly successful, with the pounds falling off rapidly. Then you reach your target weight and stop dieting. You bloat up and the weight piles on even more easily. Well, congratulations. You tricked your body into going into starvation mode, slowing down your metabolism. Now that you are finally, eating, your body is storing what it can in case of a famine.

Now you diet again. That drastic diet you tried doesn't seem effective. After cutting even more calories, you manage to shed the offending pounds. Satisfied, you take a break from the diet and all your hard work is wasted. The pounds return with a vengeance. Looks like your body is becoming very adept at holding on to the much needed energy stores in case of a famine.

You crash diet again. This time, your hair falls, the pounds seem even harder to lose. You are depriving your body of the nourishment it needs and that shows in your brittle hair, nails and dull skin.

Basically, although crash diets seem effective at first, they are a bad idea in the long run.

2. fasting to lose weight

People do fast for religious reasons. Muslims fast for an entire month in a year, eating lightly only before sunrise and after sunset. In between, for that fasting month, the devout muslims would train their discipline by not eating or drinking anything.

I've seen a muslim friend slim down each year after that fasting month, wearing dresses that show off her slimmer figure after that. So how about fasting to lose weight?

Personally, I have not tried it. I have a problem with gastritis and for me, skipping a meal can lead to a gastric attack. Once you have gastric problems, they are pretty hard to get rid of, so if you do want to fast, check with a doctor first to see if you can do it safely in the first place.

My concern about fasting as a way to lose weight fast is the same as my concern for crash diets. Would you end up slowing your metabolic rate the way you might with on and off crash dieting?

3. Endurance sports

Did you notice how lean marathon runners are? How about those who engage in endurance sports.

I actually did go for a day trip cycling to a beach with a group of friends. 3 and a half hours cycling up and down hill with hardly any breaks to get there. The next day, another 3 and a half hours to get back. All of us lost some weight on that trip.

A friend of mine had a dynamite figure even though she had 3 kids. She was training for a marathon and it showed in her figure. Lean where it mattered. She showed off her figure in gorgeous dresses and looked better than most women ten years younger than she was.

I doubt if you can lose weight that fast, like in a week, by picking up an endurance sport but over the weeks, training for a marathon, or cycling as long as you can to explore your surroundings, or for day trips would go a long way in losing weight.

You would need to pick up speed first. Training for half an hour a day, before you increase your time to an hour or longer if necessary.

4. Strength training

Muscle burns far more calories flab. Basically, if you work out and tone your body, you boost your metabolic rate. Yes, you burn calories when you workout, but even after the workout, your body would continue to burn more calories at rest than if you had been lazing around all the time.

Incorporating strength training might not bring down the numbers on the scale. Muscle weighs more than fat, so you might even end up heavier.

Instead, you would see inch loss, which translates to a slimmer figure. On a guy, bulking up is far more positive effect than just reducing the fat.

4. Diet and exercise plan

The best way to lose weight and keep it off is to incorporate both a healthy diet and a daily exercise plan you follow for the rest of your life.

If you want to lost weight quickly, or rather, reduce inches quickly, incorporate crunches and abdominal exercises before you go for a daily run. Do strength training exercises to boost your metabolic rate and aerobic exercises to burn calories more rapidly. Eat a healthy diet focusing on more fruit and veggies, less carbohydrates and enough protein to get you through the day. Cut down on junk food and watch your drinks. A glass of coke could contain 200 calories. Now how hard do you have to work out to burn those calories. It is easier to keep them off by not taking unnecessary calories than to burn them off.

Personally, I would vouch for Billy Blanks Elite [http://www.home-weight-loss-programs.com/Billy-Blanks-Elite.htm] for fast inch loss. If you really follow that plan, in one week, you can measure the difference in your waist with a tape measure. The workouts are demanding but effective. They also have a decent meal plan which if you follow strictly, can help you shed the inches quickly. There are many other weight loss plans in the market. The ones that focus both on exercise and a healthy meal plan are your best bet.

Are You STILL Trying to Lose Weight?

The Number One Secret Of Successful Weight Loss

There's one thing that most people forget about when it comes to weight loss. The truth is it's even more important than the right diet or effective exercise. It's motivation.

Weight loss is not easy and you need a real drive force to move you towards your goal.

Sit back, relax and think for a second. Do you really WANT to lose weight? Are you ready to change your lifestyle? Do you have enough motivation to lose weight?

To lose weight all you need is three things: desire, belief, and motivation. If you have all three I can guarantee you a success.

1. Desire: Do you really WANT to lose weight?

Are you sure your desire is strong enough? Are you ready for some changes? Are you willing to sacrifice? How committed you are to achieving your goal? Under what condition will you give up?

What if you wanted to lose weight so badly that you knew with absolute certainty that you would absolutely, positively never ever give up?

There's one little trick to help you intensify your desire. Take a piece of paper, and write down all the reasons why do you want to be slimmer. Write down all the benefits of being slim. Try to write down at least 15. The more reasons you'll find, the stronger your desire will get.

2. Belief: Do you BELIEVE in yourself?

If you don't believe you can reach your goal... you won't.

You have to believe that you can do it. Can you picture yourself being slim? Do you have any doubts in your mind that you can achieve what you want?

There is nothing impossible in loosing weight. Everyone can do that. And you are no exception.

3. Motivation: Are you MOTIVATED enough to follow your plan every day?

In order to achieve you goal you have to keep yourself motivated. There are three effective techniques that will help you to stay on track.

- Remember your reasons and benefits.

Take the list of benefits you wrote before. Read it. Read it every morning before you get up. Read it whenever you need stimulation.

Think about your wish, stay connected with your goal. When you are able to keep your mind on success you will be virtually certain to reach that success.

- Visualize yourself being slim

Close your eyes and relax... Create a clear mental picture. Visualize yourself being slim. How it feels? Do you feel satisfied? Happy? How others look at you? What are they saying?

Try to make the picture as realistic as possible. When you continually see yourself in possession of your goal, your subconscious mind will move you into actions that align with the mental image you hold. Visualize your goal at every opportunity.

- Use affirmations

Affirmations are the words we say to ourselves. It is the simple repeating a positive phrase in front of the mirror, in the car, or writing it on paper.

First, develop a couple of affirmations that are the most motivational to you. For example, it can be something like:

"My body is strong and healthy."

"I enjoy eating foods that are delicious and full of vitamins and minerals."

"I love the burst of energy I get after exercising."

"Every day, I am burning calories and getting closer to my weight goal."

"My healthy lifestyle empowers me."

Then repeat it as often as you can. While driving, cooking, brushing your teeth... Say it loud, add emotions. Listen to your affirmation. Feel it.

The trick is not to force yourself, but listen to yourself.

Get motivated first and you won't have to struggle trying to make yourself exercise or keep away from that doughnut. Your desire will keep you committed to your goal.

Should You Lose Weight For Your Appearance Or For Your Health?

Most folks decide to begin dieting because they want to look better. They may have recently watched the Emmys and seen all their favorite actresses in those skimpy dresses and began to feel a bit uncomfortable. Or maybe you have seen those late night commercials telling you how you too can have the body of your dreams and you just know that the testimonials are given by paid actors.

Certainly, losing a few pounds results in a trimmer and slimmer looking you. However your commitment to losing weight should be for your health, not just your physical appearance. When you are feeling good, you are looking good, too.

You may be extremely pleased at how much better you will begin to feel, both physically as well as mentally, after you slim down. Tackling a flight of stairs or strolling around the mall is not going to leave you breathless any longer. Having fun with your children in the park is going to be a joy that is not going to wear you out. You'll find yourself with more vitality to enable you to do what you want to do, and you'll also have a ton more fun doing it!

Maintaining your weight at healthy levels is clearly crucial for solid health. Going on and off and on and off a diet is a habit that usually results from attempting to slim down for reasons of appearance, not health. These yo-yo type diet patterns are the result of so-called speedy weight loss fad diets and gimmicks that have you dropping a few pounds and then putting them right back on again and then some.

If you repeatedly lose weight and gain it back, then perhaps you might want to start changing your focus towards maintaining a healthy weight. It is the long term approach that will give you the most consistent and permanent results.

Thinking long-term when it comes to weight loss comes down to a matter of one's perspective and attitude. You may have spent tons in the past on books and programs promising you quick and easy weight loss. But here you are again still looking for answers. My contention is that we don't gain weight overnight and we are not going to lose weight overnight either.

The weight loss industry is constructed on the notion that weight loss plans are unsuccessful. Why else would we have to have more than one program on the subject of weight loss?

Most weight loss programs promise results that they can't produce, due to the fact their principles of dieting are centered on the short-term. However, folks who are successful at losing weight and keeping it off for the long haul, first consider the long-term. I encourage you to shift your focus to weight reduction approaches that teach you a lifestyle as opposed to a quick fix.

Busting the Rapid Weight Loss Myths

Three Things You Have to Do Before You Start Losing Weight

Opposite to what a large number of the public believe, weight loss is not so easy! Even with the plenty of diet plans existing in the marketplace, weight loss is still challenging! Weight loss is more than merely diet and exercise. In this article I will uncover the 3 things you have to do in order to realize your fat loss goals successfully!

1. Be committed: You have to be serious and committed to your weight loss goal. Choosing a fad diet and losing a few pounds quickly is not what I call weight loss. Real weight loss will happen only when you focus on healthy eating and drinking. Once you eat natural fruits and vegetables in place of fried, junk foods, you will consume less calories than currently! When you consume less calories, You will lose weight.

I know that it is all easier said than done. After all, I can hardly expect anybody to eat raw foods while they have thrived on junk foods for years. This is why I say that you should be committed to your weight loss goal. You will encounter tough times, you will feel tempted to 'cheat' and have the greasy foods that used to be your friends, but if you exercise self-discipline at this point, you will successfully lose fat and become slim. That is how people have gotten rid of their fat belly, and you can too!

Another key lifestyle change you have to make is that of your physical activity level. Up until now, you were most likely used to a sedentary life, which is why you became fat in the first place. Obviously, weight loss will occur only when you incorporate a few activities into your life.

Exercises are excellent, but if you dislike exercises, there are other ways to do it. You can lose weight by participating in outside sports, swimming, dancing, running, etc; in fact, any interest that makes you sweat will help you lose weight!

2. Think healthy: Thinking healthy is as valuable as living a healthy life. Think about your future: Think of yourself with the skinny body that you want to acquire. If you store that image in mind, it will help you motivated and instill an adequate amount of self-confidence in you to help you to carry on with your weight loss efforts. On the contrary, if you continually think of yourself as fat and unattractive in your subconscious, that is what you will grow to be anyway!

3. Key on diet plans which not merely help you lose weight but even keep it off: fat loss is one thing, but keeping the fat off for the remainder of your life is a different game altogether. I can tell you about several of my associates who, though lost weight successfully, failed to keep up that slim body for any length of time!

It is simple to go back to your former bad habits after you lose weight, since you think that you will not gain any additional weight. However, that is absolutely wrong. Each instance you eat junk foods, you WILL gain weight. That is why it is crucial to find a weight loss plan that not only offers you tips and advice on fat loss but weight maintenance as well!

5 Tips For Losing Weight and Keeping Slim

Holistic Weight Loss and Weight Loss Maintenance

You obviously take your weight loss seriously or you wouldn't be reading this!

You are probably an expert on the whole "diet thing" but still searching for the Perfect Diet. It's likely that you have never felt totally successful or that, having succeeded, you need to keep the weight off.

And do you know why?

Because you didn't fine-tune your mind and body first, so that it could really benefit from your choice of diet.

Holistic Weight Loss and Weight Loss Maintenance are all about getting the best conditions for losing weight and maintaining it by preparing your mind and body.

This holistic weight loss article deals with the Mind.

1.      Stop thinking of yourself as a failure because you are overweight. Our culture bombards us with images of perfection. We feel that only beauty counts and that we are an underclass because of our body shape. This mind-set makes losing weight even more difficult.

So, what you need is a daily work out. (No, not down at the gym although of course that would help as well). You need some regular mental attitude exercises.

2.    Imagine how you would like to be, how your life is going now and your plans for the future. Write them all down and then make them into a list of positive statements by writing "I love ..." for each one. For example, "I love meeting the right partner" or "I love getting on well with my son/daughter etc". If you want to reach an ideal weight or size, imagine yourself there and write "I love being size (x)" or "I love reaching my goal weight of (x) lbs".

Remember this is Holistic Weight Loss, which means treating the whole person. So don't forget other aspects of your life as well, such as good health, more money, and (most important of all), "I love myself". Because if you don't, then others will have greater difficulty loving you.

How many statements you have is up to you. Perhaps start with ten and increase as you want to. Say them to yourself mentally, or out loud, several times a day, but especially first thing in the morning and last thing at night. ( I recite my positive statements when travelling)

Always say "I love",

Never say "I want" or "I need",

Because you will stay in the state of wanting. You have to visualise what it is that you love having and put yourself there already.

3.    There are always negative people around you trying to ruin your efforts, particularly those close to you. Similarly, try not to take any notice of your own criticism and self-doubts. We all have faults, and we do try to overcome them, but when we make mistakes we have to learn from them and move on.

4.    Most of us can become swamped by feelings of depression or negativity at some time. Try to use your positive statements when you feel like this. Depression, or feeling low, often leads to 'comfort eating' which obviously will not help your holistic weight loss or maintaining your goal weight.

So keep on top of those thoughts which creep in unexpectedly and lower your self-image.

5.    However, if you fail, shake yourself off and start again - several chocolate biscuits or a binge is not the end of the world. Try not to think that there is no point continuing. Use your statements and set off once again. "Put it down" as they say, and move on.

Put your list of positive statements for holistic weight loss somewhere prominent- perhaps on the fridge door- as it may well be the first place you go when life starts to fall apart! Eventually, you will know them off by heart.( My list is so long that they help me to fall asleep as I recite them!)

Live in the now!

So now is the moment to change. Make a resolution to yourself to start changing your life today.

How are you going to do it?

1.      Start to feel good about yourself.

Reflections on Losing Weight

A thought passes my mind. Perhaps no other subject has been written about or discussed as much as the subject of weight loss has been. People are so excessively concerned about their weight that they are eager to explore even the most laughable whim, if they feel that it will help them shed some weight.

The latest fad is restricted carbohydrate diets. Look at names like Atkins, South Beach Diet, and GI Diet. These diets will include food items such as pasta and rice. It is an approach where you are encouraged to eat high-protein, high-fat foods such as dairy products and meat. Generally, these diets do help people lose some weight. But one is not sure how permanent or how safe this weight loss is, eventually. Many nutritionists vouch for the fact that these diets, on the other hand, have a potential to even harm the dietitian over a period of time.

So there are too many routes to weight loss. Some really work. Some others do not. There is no one single method that works for all. The best bet for you is to eat less food and manage some time to exercise. It is a misfortune that the bodies of most of us are tuned to asking for far more food than our bodies actually need. This addiction manipulates people's minds into eating more. It is as difficult to give as any other addiction. Traditional and well known weight loss programs like diet clubs and slimming beverages, milkshakes can all help you overcome this urge to eat more. But it is an effort to stick to them.

One direct way to lose weight is to involve in some sport as a hobby. Take up any sport - running, tennis, football or anything else. It does not matter as long as it places physical demand on you.

Quick Weight Loss Diets - Facts and Fallacies

Quick weight loss diets have been around forever, and seem ever-popular, but do they really work? Many of the quick "fad" diets can help for temporary weight loss, but usually it comes back eventually. It is normal for dieters to look for the Holy Grail of diets, one that can have you lose weight fast, then keep it off.

Fad or Binge diets will always be with us, and for a few reasons one may be able to rationalize their use, for any of a number of reasons: Temporary weight loss to "get in to that dress or Tux for the one event" like a wedding or reunion, then it is OK to go back to looking normal. One of the problems of these quick loss and fad diets is many of them are plain unhealthy, and can put you at greater health risk than being overweight.

There are no miracles when it comes to weight loss, but you can take positive steps to losing weight that will help speed things along without resorting to one of these fad diets or just starving yourself. Here are some ways you can move forward and lose weight;

Eat The Right Foods To Speed Up Your Metabolism

If you've been off-and-on dieting over the years, your metabolism may be as much as 30% slower than normal. To get back to normal, you need to eat enough calories to meet your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR). You can search for BMR Calculator online and get the numbers you need. Everyone is different. You'll need to enter your height, weight, age and sex to get a number. For example, a 60 year old male at 200 lbs. that is 5' 7" tall has a BMR of about 1750 calories, while a 20 year male the same size has a BMR over 2000.

The BMR is the number of calories you need to get though the day, given "normal" activities. If you have a physically demanding job or big exercise routine, you will need more, and if you sit at a desk all day, you will need less. When trying to get to your BMR, it's best to stick to the healthier foods like lean protein, whole grains, nuts, fruits and vegetables.

You'll probably have an initial weight gain, but don't let that scare you off. First you need to get your body back to normal operating levels and repair itself. After you've been at your BMR for a couple of weeks to a month or so of eating the appropriate level of calories, your metabolism will speed up and the pounds will begin to fall away.

Once you've got your metabolism back up to speed, you can easily lose a pound a week with a balanced diet, or two pounds a week if you add an exercise program. This is safely sustainable and you won't be starving yourself any more.

Exercise to increase your weight loss.

You will rarely find exercise mentioned with quick weight loss and fad diet, primarily because exercise is work and they are trying to push your "easy" button. Most quick weight loss and fad diets dramatically reduce your caloric intake, which can lead to a quick initial weight loss, but it jacks your metabolism around and the weight will come back as soon as you eat normally again. Plus, most quick weight loss diets don't provide the same health benefits as a balanced diet and exercise.

With all of the various exercise routines out there, at least experts agree on one thing: The best exercise routines include a balance of cardio and strength training. Cardio helps exercise and strengthen the heart and circulatory system, while the strength training tends to build lean muscle mass. Everyone agrees that lean muscle mass is heavier than fat, so a physically fit person will look slim and trim compared to a fattie of the same weight and height. Regular exercise will also help you feel better, leading to a lot of other positive benefits. If you have a lot of stress in your life, you should also consider yoga for stretching and relaxation.

Once you are up to speed, if you get three to five hours a week of cardio exercise, and one or two hours a week of strength training, you will see significant changes in your body shape and fitness level.

The health benefits of exercise are well known, and include improved mood and better sleep, not to mention stronger, leaner body. Exercise also protects your heart and wards off metabolic disorders like type 2 diabetes. Quick weight loss diets can't touch any of these benefits.

Exercise doesn't need to be the kind of "dreary work out at the gym" program that many people tend to use. It can be found nearly everywhere. Gardening or home improvement projects, playing with the kids at the park, swimming, dancing, or participating in community sports are all ways of getting appropriate exercise without spending all of your time in the gym. I'm sure you can think of many others that not only provide good exercise, but are fun too!

Avoid Starvation Diets

The news and pulp magazines are full of reports of celebrities who drank nothing but [fill in your favorite fad food of the week here] to quickly slim down for a role. What we don't hear about is the aftermath: The rebound weight gain as soon as they ended their diet, and the increase in difficulty losing weight later due to messing up their metabolism.

Watch out for any quick weight loss plan that talks about "retaining water" as if it is a bad thing. Your body NEEDS water, and the sad fact is that most Americans are close to dehydration anyway due to imbalanced diets and other excesses. Most of us are so close that even as few as a couple of days without normal water intake can put us in the hospital. (I know this from personal experience, having collapsed from dehydration because my throat hurt so bad I avoided normal drinking and eating minimally for only a couple of days. That's one hospital stay I really won't be repeating.) Most of these fad and quick weight loss diets are extremely stressful to your body. They just aren't worth the health risk. At best, you'll end up tired, hungry, grouchy, dehydrated, and heavier than before. At worst, you could seriously damage your metabolism, making it impossible to lose weight later, even when you eat very few calories.

Set Reasonable Expectations

Don't set yourself up for failure. Choose a reasonable weight target for your body type and height. Trying to get your weight down to that of an anorexic looking boy-girl model just isn't reasonable unless you've got twigs for bones and don't mind a short, miserable life from all of the damage done to your body by the quick loss diets and their related issues.

In summary, the Fact is that Quick Loss Diets can work, but they are only temporary and many are plain dangerous to your continued well being. The Fallacy is that they can give you what you want, beyond a very brief instant while you are on their miserable routine.

Only a reasonable plan that includes maintaining a healthy weight by keeping your body healthy will get you where you should be. Feed your body a well balanced diet, move it often, stay hydrated and it will perform at its peak for you, for a long time to come.

5 Simple Weight Loss Tips That Work

With obesity rampant in the United States, it is no wonder that everyone is talking about losing weight. It seems like you can't go anywhere without seeing or hearing some sort of advertisement for weight loss. Retail stores and the internet are loaded with tons of weight loss information, products, and pills.

Because of the huge focus on weight loss, you would think finding good information of how to lose weight would be easy. Unfortunately it's not. Most of the information we are looking for is getting buried by the constant barrage of advertising directly focused on people who are trying desperately to lose weight.

You may even be asking yourself the questions...

Why is losing weight so difficult? or Why does losing weight have to be so confusing?

And the answer to both questions is: It's not. Here are 5 simple weight loss tips that work.

Stop Reading And Talking About Weight Loss

No matter how much weight you want to lose, reading and talking about weight loss isn't going to make the pounds come off. You need to get up, take action, stop talking about it, and start moving your body. Starting a low stress exercise regime like walking will help you lose far more weight than just talking about it.

Don't Pay Any Attention To Fad Diets

The slow and steady path to your desired weight is far better and safer than dropping lots of weight in a short period of time. One to two pounds per week of weight loss is less of a stress on your body than 10 pounds per week. All you need to do is burn more calories every day than you take in. Plus, you'll feel better and develop long lasting weight loss habits when you do it this way.

The Latest Greatest Weight Loss Product... Isn't

Don't waste your hard earned money on weight loss pills, potions, diets, or books. These gimmicks are designed to do one thing... Separate you from your money. Instead, try a nutritionally balanced diet and move more. This will slim you down and not your wallet.

Understand Weight Loss Is A Way Of Life

If your desire is to lose weight and keep it off long-term, then you are going to have to change the way you think of food and exercise. Food should be considered a source of fuel for the body, not a thing of passion. To keep the weight off, you are going to have to make some lifestyle changes, including eating right, exercising, and avoiding those late afternoon and evening snacks. Otherwise, you will end up struggling with weight loss issues for the rest of your life.

Don't Pay Too Much Attention To The Scale

You know how it is, you step on the scale and when you see you've lost a couple of pounds your become excited and happy. But what happens to your mood when you see you haven't lost any weight this week, or worse gained a pound? A lot of people would just give up and quit at that point, becoming a victim of the dreaded scale. Don't let that stupid scale make you a victim! Everyone's weight tends to fluctuate a little from week to week. And if you're exercising, remember that muscle weighs a little bit more than fat. So you may indeed have lost some weight that week, but it was offset by the gained muscle mass. Think long-term on your weight loss plans, and don't let the little setbacks get you down.

Always remember, that even though the your weight may not be changing as rapidly as you would like, your body is getting fitter everyday. Your heart and your body will thank you for it. And so will your family.

It seems like I've had issues with weight for my entire life. Like a lot of people, I have lost weight only to gain it right back when I stopped dieting and resumed my old habits. It has taken me years to end that cycle, and along the way I've learned a lot about living healthy. Hopefully, the knowledge that I've gained from my own personal "Battle of the Bulge", will help you to achieve and maintain the weight you desire. Six Secrets to Losing Weight Naturally

Losing weight is a natural process, much like gaining weight. You don't need to buy a slimming capsule or drink slimming tea to lose weight. All you need is knowledge and discipline. Knowledge is essential for weight loss because if you don't know what and what not to do, you won't be able to effectively trim down. Discipline is also vital because if you can't help yourself and stop your cravings for fat-filled foods, then you might as well forget weight loss and just go ahead and add more and more pounds under that flabby skin.

There are many ways to lose weight, but there are secrets that people don't know about. These secrets are very important and yet unknown to many, or just simply overlooked because there are a lot of easier ways like pills and products which promise weight loss. The truth is that nature has designed the best methods to stay slim or eliminate those extra fats in your body. Here are six secrets that you can use to lose your weight in a natural way.

The first one is sleep. We all need sleep, that's a fact. But the toxic and busy world nowadays has deprived us from sleeping as much as we desire. Nonetheless, it's important to keep at least six hours of good sleep every night. Why? Because it is scientifically proven that lack of sleep increases appetite and reduces eating satisfaction, resulting in overeating. If you sleep enough every night, or at least make up for all your sleep debts, you can maintain your weight and control your appetite better.

Water is an excellent solution to excessive weight. When you drink water, you feel full, and the urge to eat is immediately eliminated. Also, water is effective in eliminating the wastes inside the body, so your body is simultaneously cleansed while your appetite is regulated.

Control yourself. You can't possibly think that you can lose weight while eating all your favorite sweets and fatty foods, right? Even if you're taking supplements for weight loss, if you can stop your unhealthy cravings, you definitely will gain more weight that what you're losing with your supplements.

Want it. If you don't want to lose weight, you won't have enough motivation to undertake serious dietary changes and lifestyle alterations. If you're happy with your weight, don't let others dictate what's good and not good for you. Just make sure that you maintain a healthy weight, because being overweight or obese can pose very serious health risks.

Don't do diets, especially fad ones. Fad diets promise quick weight loss, but many people don't know that fad diets are very unhealthy. Any form of weight loss diet can be very unhealthy as well. This is because they mostly tell you to eat more proteins and meats, but meats are the biggest source of unhealthy substances that can causes diseases in the body. A healthy, well-balanced diet which follows the food pyramid is the most advisable form of eating habit.

Lastly, exercise. But don't just exercise. Take exercise seriously. Although it seems like you only have to do a lap of jogging a day to lose weight, this is not the case. You have to walk, jog, run, move around, and constantly exhaust yourself so that your body will be able to burn as much fat as possible. If you're very overweight, you might need to do more strenuous exercises, but if you're not too fat, two to three hours of jogging, walking, and aerobic exercising a day will do.

With these tips in mind, you can now throw those diet pills and slimming beverages away. Always know that the secret to any health problem is living healthy, and you don't need any other artificial solution to achieve the best results.

Weight Loss - Your Motivation to Lose Weight

Everyday there are more and more people trying to lose weight and there are several products that claim to help you reduce fat and lose weight. There are also several weight loss plans and diet programs aimed towards fat reduction. However, the problem of weight loss and fat reduction does not seem to be in the reduction, but in the maintenance of it. So what is it that makes sticking to a diet and slimming yourselves extremely difficult?

There are several reasons why it may be difficult for you to lose weight. First of all there are several scam products on the market. Secondly even with products and diets that work, the competition in the weight loss market is so high that advertisements sometimes promise miraculous results. However, this is not true. Losing weight requires sticking to a healthy diet and exercising regularly in order to reduce fat. Any quick plan to lose weight just reduces the amount of water in your body and that would result in losing weight, but there won't be any fat reduction. As a result, you will gain all your lost weight promptly back.

And in order for your plan to lose weight to succeed, you need to have the motivation to stick to a scientific diet and exercise regime for a long term. Your mental attitude determines the success of your weight loss diet as much as being able to follow a diet plan. Most people on a diet indulge in binge eating, thereby losing all the advantages of the diet in one single meal. Also, most diets advocate you to give up a lot of things that you love to eat, and because of this the mind craves them even more. Instead, you need to identify a diet that helps you eat in moderation and more importantly is interesting enough to allow you to stick with it for the long term.
